Author's insight by Vish on 21 Jun 2012

"Are Indian voters %u2014 disillusioned by the Congress and others of the political class, and affected by the economic slump %u2014 willing to turn to an authoritarian and inegalitarian administration?". Does the author have any basis to state that Modi's rule will be authoritarian and inegalitarian? Is there any past experience or special insight on the basis of which this statement has been made. Would love to hear.

BJP "troubles"? by Marudhamuthu Radhakrishnan on 21 Jun 2012

What is happening to the BJP is good for Indian democracy. Let a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend, provided no Mao-figure steps out afterwards with the blessings of the RSS, and whips up Hindu patriotic passions. These multiple centres emerging within the BJP should call forth a similar development in the regimented thinking of the typical Congress-persons accustomed to worshipping before icons. Together with the emergence of powerful regional party leaders, this kind of democratisation of the two big all India parties will hopefully force the Indian polity into a new, healthy mode.

Waste of the space by Ritesh on 21 Jun 2012

Partially written article with same old jibber-jabber about Modi. How do you know all these about modi sitting abroad?

Biased article by Kaushik on 21 Jun 2012

Half-truth campaign against modi is what this article really is. It includes personal attacks like attributing ego to a person he does not know. He is also saying that today's elections (under the congress rule, that is) are won with money. So, how is congress going to win? with milk? :-)

Waste of the space by AdJaq on 21 Jun 2012

Congress will win the elections through hard work. It takes a lot of hard work to loot the public!

Falsification Theory of Modi's Time by Abhishek on 27 Jun 2012

This repeated statement of Modi being polarizing factor between hindu and muslim is created and carried forwarded by people like you. This is direct attack on intellect of Gujarati people. They voted for him on 2002 and then 2007 and wait year end it will be same story. So my question to you Subramaniam is "Are all the Gujarati people blind to see this pro-hindu leader and main culprit of riots?" I have never seen any government coming back after riots be it congress after 1984 & 1992. Hope that makes bit more sense to you. And for your information I have travel S6 couch of sabarmati express before and after Godhra riots and I was in Ahmedabad during riots. Please don't perpetuate false statements and ideas. Give a chance to person who can really trigger growth of biggest democracy else without that this democracy has no meaning other than living like poor coun.

BS by Kaushik on 21 Jun 2012

If you're so right, why shout with CAPS? You were not there in Godhra or afterwards. You don't know what happened. People like jeffrelot wrote things, you believed them. and now you repeat the same on his post, thus continuing the misinformation for which he may be getting paid but you are NOT. And for your kind information, the "godhra carnage" was the one where 57 men, women and even small children were burnt TO DEATH by muslim mobs.

Modi---- by Susanta Chakraborty on 21 Jun 2012

Mr. Jafferlot I request you to join the colation of Secular intellectuals, limo liberals, NGO's, the secular formulation. This front will write articles in newspapers, magazines, will pontificate from TV studios how Modi will be a bad idea for India. You may also contact your peers in foreign media to write stories in TIMES and other media. This will indeed give an opportunity to we indians to decide which way to vote. Whether a caste leader like Nitish who's work is limited to one state or Mr. Modi who has proved that he is capable of turning every stone hurled on him to an oppurutunity find new ways to govern a state. Good luck to you Mr. Jafferlot.
