Although Tihar Jail spokesperson Sunil Gupta denied reports that Mukesh was beaten and forced to drink his own urine and eat excreta, sources said it was true that Mukesh had been assaulted.
Meanwhile, Mukesh was identified on Thursday by the 28-year-old software engineer who was assaulted and thrown out of the bus. The test identification parade (TIP) was conducted inside Jail 4 of Tihar on Thursday.
Mukesh is the younger brother of Ram Singh, the first to be arrested in the case. Sources said 11 men, who were of similar height and built as Mukesh, were paraded in front of the engineer. A source said the engineer was calm during the TIP.
Mukesh was driving the bus when the 23-year-old woman was gangraped, police said.
According to police, the woman’s friend, who was also badly beaten up, has been trying to provide every possible piece of information and help to investigators. He recorded his statement before a Saket court on Wednesday.
Ram Singh was arrested on Monday, along with Vinay Sharma, a gym assistant at the Siri Fort sports complex, and Pawan Gupta, a fruit vendor. Mukesh was arrested later from Rajasthan.

Let them suffer strangulation hanging, that lasts 30 minutes so they may feel the struggling of their victim as they disembowelled her.
these person should get similar treatment with their genital organ chopped off and intestine damaged with blow of pointed rod and should be thrown naked on road to die a dog's death
Now this is some punishment. Criminals are not scared of police, judicial system etc. They only understand the language of "Danda". Tihar inmates should mete out this treatment on a daily basis, so that this criminal should beg for death!!!
The criminals inside Tihar know better than these animals. What "safety" are we speaking about? Why should Mukesh be safe? From what? Let him also know what it feels like. Put him back with the inmates!

Great work by Tihar inmates. It feels good that even Tihar guys condemned this act as inhumane and gave him a taste of such act. Although they should have not stopped until they'd castrated him after inflicting all possible physical pains on that monster but its still good to read this news. I hope it is true. Cheers!

Why are we not putting those police men behind the bars who were taking the bribes from these culprits. they are equally responsible for the crime. had'nt been they allowed the bus to ply illigally this wouldn't have happened. Why are we not mentioning this in the charge sheet and status report. Where is our Judiciary? why are they not reacting about this finding. Why is the Home minster and commissioner of police is quite on this fact.

I salute to these fellows. They have done a good job. Let them go out of Tihar and put our corrupt politicians behind the bars. How strange they know how to react in such cases but our politicians and so called NGOs don't understand the plight of a woman.

Even Criminals consider rape as a very abhorable crime and look down upon rapists in jail. Got to know this from a person in law enforcement agencies.

Trust me this is the justice I was looking for. With a good lawyer and anti women police force more interested in Hafta vasuli and less in making a water tight case against the rapist, I fear guilty are likely to get away lightly, and look forward to next rape. I am thankful to Tihar jail inmates, I salute them, I feel proud Indian again. Tihar inmates the whole nation is with you.We trust them and not Police & judiciary. One could rightly feel "proud" being an Indian because the inhabitants generally reflect the values and culture of India and they did what they excel in doing,furthering the cause of discipline,even while being imprisoned for their good deeds. What a conscientious paragons!
