Social activist Anna Hazare

Bangalore Anna Hazare said people's mandate is no longer with the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government and it would be reflected in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Asked to comment on the Prime Minister rejecting the Opposition BJP's demand for resignation on the coal allocation issue, Hazare said: “(following corruption scandals) People's mandate is not with them (now). It will show in 2014 (Lok Sabha poll).”

After a week-long rejuvenation treatment at Jindal Nature Care Institute, he said he feels fighting-fit.

“I am alright now and ready for fight as well (crusade against corruption). I will travel around the country and visit the states to awaken the people. Fight will continue till the country becomes corruption-free,” the Gandhian said.

He also rejected suggestions of differences in the erstwhile Team Anna, which he disbanded recently. “You will see that we will fight unitedly.”

Indians are corrupt by rajkumar on 03 Sep 2012

It is not the politicians are corrupt. We Indians are fundamentally corrupt. Politcians are only a external manifestation. Only difference is most corrupt Indians have all jumped into politics and we corrupt Indians have voted them. What is inside only will show up in the face. So Anna please answer is NDA corrupt free? They have murders, rapes, blood, massive looting of Karnataka in their hands. Anna you have to change your movement that is fundamentally flawed by attacking congress.

Indians are corrupt by Dr T K N Chary on 03 Sep 2012

Shall we say MOST Indians are OPPORTUNISTIC. It means we look for an Opportunity in EvERYTHING... From jumping a quaue to paying a bribe when it comes to getting things done. May be, this is more a. Response to issues of survival...survival of the fittest. In the west too there is corruption but in other spheres of life. There is a lot of transparency in PUBLIC dealings.

Corruption free INDIA by puneet on 03 Sep 2012

Everyone will agree that corruption is spreading like a venom in Indian society. While it is much too visible in politics and bureaucracy, it is spreading in every organ of the society slowly, but surely. The basic human nature, coupled with the erosion of traditional value system is the root cause of corruption. The basic human nature is to get as much as possible for oneself, by any means possible. It is therefore sacred duty of a responsible government to frame stricter rules to curb this menace. At the same time, government should also promote value system in every administrative organ.Unfortunately, all successive governments after independence have failed to act on both the fronts. It is therefore not fair to blame the present government, only because big scandals are being unearthed on daily basis.Passing Lokpal bill will no doubt stop the menace of corruption to great extent, but at the same time we need to revisit our value system, placing too much importance on money.
