Media hype by Hari on 15 Apr 2012

If SRK is so offended, he should stay in India. We have to keep our country safe. And Indian media should understand that.

Why this fury on this insignificant man. by Dr.Yogesh Sharma on 14 Apr 2012

I am surprised on this fury for this insignificant man and irrelevant issue. We must learn the rule of law and patriotism from USA. Moreover SRK is not a holy cow. He has close relationship with Pak cricket players, involved in objectionable acts. Second SRK has been involved in money laundering acts for which he has been questioned by Indian authorities. This news was appeared in a number of Indian newspapers.Similarly when he was detained at the airport last time, he was said to be visiting USA on the invitation of a man who was convicted by a US court. This news appeared in TOI. In India also he has been involved in ugly scenes with fellow co-stars. I think it is his Khan connection for which Indian make fury. This is the tendency of Indian media, politicians, secularists, intellectuals etc., to show extra love to Muslims, otherwise Indians are treated badly globally and worst in Islamic nations but no body open their mouth. Large number of Indians get money from Islamic nations.

Shah Rukh Khan grilled! by K B Kale on 14 Apr 2012

Well, Shah Rukh Khan is not a saint so what's wrong if he is questioned by American authorities?

EYE FOR A EYE by Anand on 14 Apr 2012

We should do the same thing with US diplomats/stars who visit our Country (@ both international as well as domestic airports).....and then apologies....maybe then they will re think about calling us bloody poor Indians.

On SRK's detention by rajneesh sharma on 14 Apr 2012

It was simply terrible!!!!!This ugly incident has become a daily-feature with the U.S.authorities!!!!! It is indeed a wake-up call for the Foreign ministry

My name is Khan n I m not a terrorist by Shekhar on 13 Apr 2012

Dis he not tell them that My name is Khan n I m not a terrorist?

shah rukh by VS on 13 Apr 2012

Great sense of Humour. Shah Rukh comes out great from this episode. It is the GOI which has egg all over the face!

Retaliate by Tharikadan on 13 Apr 2012

India should retaliate the same way as US immigration officials teat Indians at American Air Ports. Indians are ver timid to tae such action. They salute white men and escorts them for quic clearance. They even allow white mne to smoke as they wish. This is slave mentality. We accept whatever they do but we have no guts even to take a white criminal into custody.

Why?? by Akshay on 13 Apr 2012

Don't regret. Lock him up permanently and save us some headaches his movies give us. Also, I guess he wanted everyone to know he was in Yale and so he got detained. I didn't know even US Authority could be bribed....!!

SO WHAT? by AP on 13 Apr 2012

so what if Shahrukh Khan got detained? He isn't an Indian minister or diplomat. He is simply a celebrity, which makes him an ordinary citizen. If the US Immigration department saw fit to detain him for whatever reason, they are well within their right to do so. How often do we hear people raising a hue and cry about other ordinary citizens who have been detained or questioned? It is what it is, deal with it. To add further, we all know that SRK is not a threat to any country (to the best of our knowledge). The reason being that he is a HUGE celebrity here. US Immigration doesn't know that and even if they did, that doesn't eliminate the chance that maybe celebrities (Indian, Pakistani, Russian or even American) can sometimes do things which are illegal and sometimes tied to terrorist activities. You'd rather be safe than take the chance on some so called celebrity-gone-rogue cause mayhem and destruction!

Sick of Indians by rsm on 13 Apr 2012

Looks like Indians are the most fuzzy people on the entire planet.. Leas the Americans alone, they are free to do what is right in their country. If one is not happy, don't go to their place. Stay home.

SMK SRK by Rajan on 13 Apr 2012

Why this koleveri koleveri SMK for SRK No need to wate your time Let Home guard do their duty. and you safe guard India from Kasabs

Why getting so upset by TN Ramachandran Nair on 13 Apr 2012

The whole report comes just because it was SRK. Several Indians and may be other nationalities continue to get the same treatment at US immigration. SRK may be a great person for Indians but expecting other countries or systems to think so cannot be demanded. If Govt. of India feels so agitated let them send a advisory to US before SRK or any other dignitaries' intended visit abroad that such and such personality is so great that they should n't be subjected to such clearances. Will any sensible govt. heed to such requests. Hence just ignore it let the media concentrate on more serious and important issues.

Yes I Agree by Ashwin Patel on 13 Apr 2012

Earlier similar immigration check trouble had with our respected president APJ Abdul Kalam, when his luggage was checked. Why at that time the Government had not reacted so strongly ? Now for such type of people so much uproar ?

What's sauce for the Goose ... by Utpal Bordoloi on 13 Apr 2012

Not just Shah Rukh Khan, it has happened to many other indians too, including former President APJ Kalam Ajad, Indian Ambassador to USA, etc, etc.And it will continue to happen because Indian government does not dare to retaliate. But the Americans don't dare to do it to Chinese, because Chinese retaliate. I suggest let's regularly strip search, detain and humiliate a few top Americans at our airports - to be followed by a routine insincerely ' apology ' - and see what happens

What is this Chubb Fellowship anyway? by B S Kumar on 13 Apr 2012

An award for having a chubby face? Who cares about SRK and his managed, rehearsed eloquence, when his own contribution to "art" is rather lame? Seriously, he is just an actor. What is Yale doing with him? Perhaps the Ambanis made a rather sizable donation since their kid is studying there, so there has to be some insider balancing act playing out there, nothing more.

what happens by seess on 13 Apr 2012

What is wrong in detention for 2 hours or more. Teach a lesson, let SRK donot go to amerca for ever for promotions. it is american policy hate it or accept it depends on you. so much hue and cry for media attraction.

srk by SKB on 13 Apr 2012

WE SHOULD START SAME TREATMENT WITH US OFFICIALS,LEADERS AND BIG PERSONALITY.THAN ONLY THEY WILL UNDERSTAND.BUT IN THIS COUNTRY THEY DON'T KNOW TO TAKE TOUGH STAND.OUR PRESIDENT AND WELL KNOWN PERSONALITY LIKE dR. KALAM ALSO PASSED THROUGH SAME PHASE.WHAT ACTION INDIAN GOVT. TAKEN?

jasumati by chinubhai mehta on 13 Apr 2012

Americans consider all Indians as suspects & consider india a second rate country. hence, they practice what is undesirable and then apologize as if they think we are brainless not to understand! we must return the same coin back to them in the same manner to teach them a real lesson on the same way at our all air ports..

Usa does not treat all Indians alike by Mahesh Naik on 13 Apr 2012

No,Mr. Chinubhai, The Indian Italian not treated like this when she went there for hospital stay.

Big Deal by Fan on 13 Apr 2012

Totally agree with "The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah while reacting to Shah Rukh's detention tweeted, %u201CHonestly what's the big deal?? This airport detention thing happens all the time & to all sorts of people. Get over it.%u201D " Big deal, many people get this treatment every day. So why cry for one mediocre guy? If this worries you then cry for every Indian common man who goes through this insult every day. And this smacks of pre-planned marketing. SRK can only mouth dialogs/jokes well written by others and rehearsed in advance. Looking at the jokes cracked later on, I doubt that such a mediocre person who claims to have gone through this humiliating trauma and few minutes later is able to display such a sense of humour. Thus it was pre-planned just to keep his name in media.

Stop marketing yourself all the time Mr. Khan by rohilla on 13 Apr 2012

I agree with you.

So what?? by J Oberoi on 13 Apr 2012

So bl**dy what? SRK is not our President !! If he doesn't want to be harassed he should change his name to "Shankar Ramesh Kishan".

India, Dont expect to get apologies for free by Sagar on 13 Apr 2012

India has a problem. we think we owe apologies for simple detention. US wont apologise for no reason. detention is not a crime nor a mistake. they have a right to ask questions. If SRK doest like it or gets deeply upset about this, he shud sit at home. Simple .. Low quality indian media comes up with these apology stories for indian readers. news readers , please grow up , media will grow next.

AIRPORT DETAIN by Rajesh on 13 Apr 2012

Just because He is Shahrukh Khan he is in news , Otherwise Law is same for everyone ,What is so great for waiting 2 hr for getting immigration clearance , lots of Indians have to stand everyday in lines for hours in our goverment department including our immigrartion and passport department ,so please this is no big deal

Blunder by Stanly.MJ on 13 Apr 2012

The US immigration official had committed this offence many times with SR Khan in the past. If last name makes US Authorities annoyed then they will have to eliminate entire Pakistan. Our ex-president was frisked by airlines authorities under the name of security measures. Indian Authorities must do the same thing to the US official so that they won%u2019t repeat this offence again. An apology after committing such a blunder is not a good diplomacy.

US regrets detaining Shah Rukh Khan at airport, India fumes by vasoo kamulkar on 13 Apr 2012

One cannot apportion too much blame on the Americans for being sensitive to the name of KHAN which has turned the US psyche, upside down. As the proverb goes, 'After getting mouth scalded by boiling milk, one tends to blow down even the refrigerated butter-milk before use.' It beats logic that the American security authority will insult the Bollywood icon yet again, deliberately. We should cool it down by regarding the incident as a lack of co-ordination between various units of the Security Service of a vast Country.

Stupid Title by Mann on 13 Apr 2012

India fumes? Half the people in my country is dying in hunger and dont care if God Himself is detained in the airport, so change it to "some Indians fume"
