Vadra mocks ‘aam aadmi’ on Facebook

New Delhi Robert Vadra took what appeared to be a contemptuous dig at Arvind Kejriwal and his team on Monday, changing his Facebook status to read “Mango people in banana republic”, an apparent reference to the ‘aam aadmi’ on whose behalf the activist claims to be fighting.

As Kejriwal’s India Against Corruption (IAC) reacted sharply, Vadra shut down the account.

The businessman son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi had on Sunday described the allegations — made by Kejriwal and lawyer Prashant Bhushan on Friday — about his property deals with real estate giant DLF as “manufactured lies” intended to garner “cheap publicity”.

Ever since its metamorphosis into a political party, the IAC has portrayed the aam aadmi as its mascot, complete with Gandhi topis saying ‘I am aam aadmi’. On Monday, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “Evidence pouring in from mango men from across the country. Mango men wud (would) prove to be nemesis for the ‘powerful’.”

He promised more revelations on Tuesday. “DLF granted favors to Sh Robert Vadra. What favors did Haryana Govt grant DLF? How is DLF reply a bunch of lies? Will speak tomo (tomorrow) at 5pm,” Kejriwal tweeted.

DLF has denied suggestions of a quid pro quo in its dealings with Vadra.

IAC’s Kumar Vishwas advised Vadra to ask his mother-in-law about the ‘banana republic’ of India: “Calling it a banana republic is an insult to the country. He should ask Sonia Gandhi the reasons... because she is the one who is running it. And if he feels this is not a good enough country..., he is free to leave.”

MANGO PEOPLE IN BANANA REPUBLIC by PALM K on 11 Oct 2012

IT IS ROBERT VADRA'S COMMENT THAT WE ARE "MANGO PEOPLE IN BANANA REPUBLIC". YES HE IS RIGHT BECAUSE A MANGO PEOPLE (HIS FATHER) WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS BIRTH IN THIS BANANA REPUBLIC FOR WHICH HIS IN-LAWS ARE RULING SINCE 1947, ARE THEY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SUCH CONDITIONS. BUT WHY HE IS LIVING IN THIS BANANA REPUBLIC BY MAKING BUSINESS HERE ONLY. IT IS ALWAYS A JOKE THAT PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE TO SAY IT MINE BUT REMAIN WITH IT. MAY GOD GRANT U "SADBUDDHI"..

Vadra mocks ‘aam aadmi’ on Facebook by abbas ali on 09 Oct 2012

Calling India a Banana Republic reeks of a high level of arrogance and also delivers insight into how far removed Mr Robert Vadra is from his countrymen (am ashamed to call him one of us Indians). It is time Rahul and his sister give him a strong telling off, knock him off his snooty pedestal, and make him see where he stands.

Vadra mocks ‘aam aadmi’ on Facebook by Singh on 09 Oct 2012

All this aam aadmi and low caste slogans is leading the nation backward on all fronts. Just look at the picture of the delegates attending the civil aviation conference in Delhi and you will see the odd man out in the way of Minister Ajit Singh sitting in the middle with slippers and looking more like a beggar. India has to improve its image to get even the minimum attention. With growth slipping due to the wrong economic policies of the government and worse still the tactics of the opposition which is dealing a death knell to the economy, India is a basket case and anyone can notice this.

If India is a banana republic for Mango people, why the hell Vadra and his in-laws family have come to such babab republic, ignoring their own Pizza republic of Italy? The dynastic rule of the Nehru dynasty is absolutely respnsible for converting India to the present banana republic status.

Varda by Rama Rao on 09 Oct 2012

I agree with your view that it is the legacy of the family rule with foreign poison

VADRA by sadakchap on 09 Oct 2012

They all claim he is not a member of the congress party even. Then why is it every congressman worth his salt is issuing statements in defence of Vadra. It is highly improper on the part of the Karnataka governer to have got into this fray. As a lawyer and former law minister he should have known the it is not ethical for governers to get into party debates.

Deportation by annapp on 09 Oct 2012

Mr. Varda, his mother-in-law, the whole Gandhi(really Vinci) clan should be immediately deported(to Italy or Russia) to save India from certain bankruptcy. After all, they really are not Indian citizens.
