Claiming that he had never made personal attacks, but was now being forced to do so after Modi's comment, Digvijay Singh said: "Why is Modi is silent about his wife's name? If you can visit You Tube and search Narendra Modi's wife, you will find the name Yashoda Ben as his wife."
Digvijay Singh further claimed that Modi's remark was not just limited to Tharoor and his wife, but it was an attack on all women.
"Narendra Modi is now trying to move out of Gujarat and become a national leader. So, he now talks less about Gujarat and talks more on national issues. He uses objectionable words against national leaders, I condemn it," he said.
"The comment that he made against Shashi Tharoor was not against him, but against the entire woman community," he added.
He also justified Tharoor's reply that Modi doesn't know how to love a woman.
In an apparent attack on Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar, Modi at an election rally on Monday said: "Wah kya girlfriend hai. Apne kabhi dekha hai 50 crore ka girlfriend?" (What a girlfriend? Have you ever seen a 50-crore girlfriend)?"
"There was a Congress leader who was a minister. He was accused of amassing wealth from cricket. He had said in Parliament that he is not connected to the Rs 50 crore in the lady's name," Modi had said.
Why don't Modi reveal his Marital status ? Why is he hiding his wife ? Actual fact is Modi is trying to get Popularity among all indians. So he is hitting every one from every state so that he can become Popular in that state when Parliamentary elections in 2014.

Hi William, If you think Google is true, search for Sonia, Rahul Gandhi etc. You can find their past and qualifications.And how come nehru family members became members of 'Gandhi' family. Indira Gandhi married Feroz 'Gandy'(actual name) and converted his name to 'Gandhi'(you can check wikipedia) and Sonia and Rahul are glorified being Gandhians???? There is lot of difference between these 'Gandians' and Mahatma Gandhi!!
If you type Digvijay Singh in youtube.com, the first hit you get is of a donkey kicking the ground. Does this mean that Digvijay Singh is THAT donkey. Since when did Youtube/google become the marriage registrar for the Government of India? Even a year 10 student knows that one shouldn't trust everything they see/hear on the internet. And Modi did not say anything to Ms Pushkar, he was simply making a point that Sashi Tharoor helped Ms Pushkar make some money using his political connections. At the time he claimed that Ms Pushkar was his "Girl Friend". Once the money was transferred, he married his "Girl Friend" and hence the transaction of corrupt money was complete. Kudos to Modi for identifying that and making it public knowledge. I know who will be getting my vote in the next election.
All the media are conveniently forgetting the context in which Modi made this comment "50 crore ka girlfriend". Tharoor clearly was trying to make 50 crores of corruption money in his girlfriend name and refusing to own up to that. Girlfriend that he refused to acknowledge soon became his wife. Let also talk about this corruption of Mr. Tharoor.
Modi has shown his true colours and proven that he does not respect women. He has not shown a bit of regret/remorse over the killing/rape of innocent women in the Godhra riots, how do you expect him to respect someone else's wife. Women will probably be worse off if this man is allowed to continue in politics, be it in Gujarat or anywhere else.
Sasi Taroor said that his wife is price less ,Beyond 50 Crores. you have to be able to love some one to under stand that....It is very shame to say that sasi taroor realized this fact only after his third marriage.
Modi's comments were very cheap. Isnt he accountable and responsible at the very same time being a political leader? Is this how our leders et an example for the young generations? Where are the ethics of politics in them....arent there any code of ethics...? Shame that we have political leaders like these. It is a cheap method of drawing attention at national or state level.

At one side women of India suffering with gas cyclinder restriction becacuse of corrupt congress govt & other side congress leaders like shashi gift 50 crore wife. Why everybody in this column trying to shield Modi. Modi is a wife deserter. I have Googled and found out this. Her Name is Jasodabe, working as a teacher. In the net it is given as she married at the age of 18, which might be wrong. She will retire on 31-10-2012, i.e yesterday. She lives in shanty among muslims. She goes to her brother house once a week. She wakes us early in the morning to take bath as she does not have a bathroom. I think this much is enough for Modi a wife deserter.

Shri Narendra Modi's wife is a Housewife as she belongs to Guarati Orthodox family.Naturally she is not in the picture of Society lady as she is away from publicity.So it is wrong on the part of Shri DigVijay sab to make a remark about the Lady
