Bangalore A mentally challenged woman has been arrested for unauthorised entry into the high security Indian Space Research Organisation premises here, police said today.

Police said that the 44-year-old woman has been identified as Jula N Sam, a native of Ahmedabad.

Jula was arrested on September 21 for trying to sneak into a meeting being held at ISRO headquarters located at New BEL Road near here with a fake ID card, police said.

BSF sub-inspector Rama Rao grew suspicious about her movements and questioned her and after a brief inquiry she was handed over to CISF Inspector Lakshman Singh and later a police complaint was lodged, sources said.

Police said Jula had visited Kollam in Kerala to attend the last rites of her father on September 19 and after that, came to Bangalore the same night and stayed at ISRO's guest house at Jeevan Beemanagar, around 10 km from the ISRO headquarters, by producing a fake ID card.

She had obtained the card from a photo studio at Kollam, police said.

Police booked Jula under various IPC sections including 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), 420 (cheating) and 490 (breach of contract of service during voyage or journey).

Police said Jula's husband, who is in the city, claimed that his wife is mentally challenged.

IF THIS A JOKE? THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER REGARDING NATIONAL DEFENCE. by sandeep on 24 Sep 2012

I am shocked to hear this news. How can this happen, what if she is a foreign agent from China or Pakistan? how can this happen? Whole security system should be suspended and serious inquiry should be conducted.Chief of security at ISRO should be suspended. How can he get away with such a blunder.

Woman outwits security officers. by Curious onlooker on 24 Sep 2012

A woman using a fake ID could enter the restricted premises of the Indian Space Research Organisation, knew of a meeting that was in progress at the center and even put up as guest in their Bangalore guest house. With the kind of security vigilance in place one couldn't dismiss the possibility she might even had access to the highly sensitive areas of the center. How she could be described as being mentally challenged, begs the question. The mentally challenged must be those who were assigned the duty to prevent the center from being invaded!
