Azim Premji to meet CM today

Kolkata A day after Infosys CEO S Gopalakrishnan met Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to give a push to his firm’s IT project at Rajarhat, chairman of Wipro Azim Premji will meet the CM on Wednesday to discuss his project at the same township, which has hit the headlines for its controversial land acquisition.

“Wipro has already paid 25 per cent of the price of the land. However Premji is basically making a courtesy call tomorrow. Various aspects regarding the project are expected to crop up during his meeting with the chief minister,” said Debesh Das, state Minister for Information Technology.

“We are happy to see their keenes to have their projects here,” the minister added.

Like Infosys, the Wipro too has received 50 acres of land at Rajarhat and for which they have paid Rs 19 crore.
