Kolkata The Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi is awaiting the results of verification of a list of survivors from the Andaman sea mishap, sent to Dhaka by the Indian Government. A senior High Commission official told The Indian Express from Delhi on Tuesday that the list of survivors, who are Bangladeshis according to statements recorded by Andaman police, is a detailed one.

“The Indian Government sent us a list of 66 names, with their interrogation details. We have forwarded the same to our government. At the moment, the names are being cross-checked by our government officials as to ascertain if they are indeed Bangla nationals. Once the survivors are confirmed as Bangladeshis, we will send a representative to arrange for their repatriation. We are expecting a reply from Dhaka any day,” the official said.
