Rajkot Unveiling its just-allotted party symbol of bat, Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) president Keshubhai Patel on Saturday hit out at Narendra Modi, especially for the Chief Minister’s 3D satellite event scheduled for Sunday.

Addressing a 10,000-strong crowd at his party’s convention in Rajkot, Patel called Modi an illusion. “In Gujarati, 3D means bhram, meaning illusion. He is actually nothing more than an illusion,” the former CM said.

On Sunday, Modi would address four meets simultaneously in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot through satellite transmission telecasting his 3D image.

While the turnout for GPP convention was modest, the party got a boost with Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sameer Shah, Saurashtra-Kutch Stock Exchange president V P Vaishnav joining it. RSS veteran Pravin Maniar and Rajkot district BJP general secretary Devshi Tadhani were also present.

The convention was held at Race Course ground, where Congress president Sonia Gandhi had kicked off her party’s last month. “This is the ground where Sonia Gandhi addressed the rally. No other party in recent years has dared to hold a meeting here. But we have done so successfully,” GPP general secretary Gordhan Zadaphia said.
