Kolkata, November 07 Nano, the small car by the Tatas, will be showcased at the India Show 2009 to be held in Santiago and at the Buyer Seller Meet in Peru.

The announcement was made on Friday at a meeting organised by the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).

According to ITPO, the purpose of holding the India Show in Chile and Peru is to tap their unexplored automobile markets.

“Tata Motors will display Nano in both Santiago and Peru shows,” said the ITPO Executive Director, Rajiv Yadav.

“The exclusive India Show is meant to tap new overseas markets. It will highlight the potential of Indian industries,” said Yadav.

The Santiago show, which is to be held from March 18 to March 21, is expected to draw huge crowds. Companies like Reliance, Tata Motors, Bombay Dying, Wipro, Infosys and TCS have already confirmed their participation.

As part of the government’s initiative, the agency has been organising a number of exclusive trade shows in various Latin American countries.

Last year, the India Show was held in Brazil, in which 14 Indian companies had participated.

In its effort to address environment and energy-related issues, the ITPO will also organise Envirotech and Energytech exhibitions at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from December 14 to December 17.
