Dead lizard in sambar, eatery to pay Rs 20,000
New Delhi: A city-based eatery has been ordered to pay Rs 20,000 as fine and compensation to a customer for serving her ‘sambar’ that had a dead lizard floating in it. Aggarwal Sweet House, located in Seelampur, was ordered to pay the fine by the Northeast District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum. “The eatery owner was under an obligation to ensure that the food he serves in his eatery is fit for ordinary human consumption,” the bench presided by N A Zaidi said.
