CME awards diplomas

Pune As many as 250 Personnel Below Officers Rank (PBOR) of the Indian Army were awarded diplomas in civil engineering (DCE), diplomas in electrical and mechanical engineering (DEM) and diplomas in architecture assistanceship (DAA) at a function held at College of Military Engineering here recently.

Hav M Biswas got the silver medal and three book prizes for standing first in DCE, Nk Syam Kumar KM and Nk Desh Bandhu got silver medals in DEM and DAA respectively, said a press release. These personnel will in turn become junior engineers in military engineering services.

Maj Gen Ranjeev Datt, deputy commandant and dean, CME, was the chief guest at the function.

In addition, 97 students from three training centres who completed two years of intensive training were awarded scrolls, the release said. In his valedictory address, Datt said that 89 per cent passing out in first division is a commendable performance and congratulated the students and faculty for good work.
