Kolkata Fresh tension erupted in Nandigram following a clash between Trinamool Congress and CPM supporters at Takapura village on late Thursday night.

According to the police, nine people were injured in the clash that began over flag hoisting. Local CPM leaders claimed that among the injured six belonged to their party.

Both the parties blamed each other for instigating the violence. CPM leader Asoke Bera alleged that the Trinamool supporters tore off CPM party flag and attacked their supporters. Trinamool leader Abu Taher refuted the allegations and said the CPM workers removed his party’s flag.

Meanwhile, police arrested three persons for possessing firearms in Khejuri on Friday. Police said that they belonged to the Trinamool.
