Donations needed for heart surgery

Ludhiana The family of Ram Varan has appealed to the public for donations to help pay for a heart surgery and treatment. A gardener by profession, Varan is the only earning member of his family of two kids and a wife. Varan was admitted to Hero DMC Heart Centre after he was diagnosed with a heart problem wherein on of his heart valves had shrunk in size. Preliminary treatment was paid for through donations by people in whose garden Varan used to work and fellow gardeners. Atwal new head of athletics body

Assistant Commissioner of Police, S S Atwal, has been unanimously elected as the president of the Ludhiana Athletics Association. Atwal has represented India 21 times on the International stage. Prem Singh has been made general secretary of the association.
