Foreign officers from National Defence College visit CME

Pune A delegation of 22 foreign officers of the 49th NDC (National Defence College) Course, New Delhi, on Friday, visited College of Military Engineering here.

The objective of the visit was to showcase the CME, a premier training establishment, to senior service officers of the friendly foreign countries, a press release said. The course senior, Maj Gen J R Bukpotha of Sri Lanka, exchanged mementos with CME Commandant Lt Gen U S P Sinha. The course consisted of officers from the US, UK, Australia, Japan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and other nations, said the release. They interacted with the CME Commandant, who briefed them on the training imparted at the college.

The delegation was taken on a windshield tour of the campus and shown the varied training and administrative infrastructure at the CME. Bukpotha said the visit to the institute, which imparts highly professional and realistic training in military engineering, was a learning experience for the group.
