Kolkata The Calcutta High Court’s intervention in the disputed allotment of land to former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has been sought again. This time in connection with the valuation of the 63.04 cottah land, which was allotted to the cricketer to set up a school in Salt Lake.

The review petition filed by one Arunagsu Chakraborty said the state government had misled the High Court on the value of the land. According to him, the per cottah value of the land allotted to Ganguly was Rs 63 lakh and not Rs 1 lakh as stated by the government in a previous case pertaining to the same land case.

On April 12, the Division Bench of former Chief Justice Mohit S Shah and Justice Pinaki Ghosh had directed the former skipper to pay an additional Rs 43.75 lakh for maintaining the lease of the plot. With Ganguly having already paid Rs 20.54 lakh for the said plot, the total money paid him amounted to Rs 64.29 lakh.

In his petition, Chakraborty claimed that the allotted plot was a commercial one and the data collected from the Registrar of Assurance of Kolkata shows that the land value is estimated to be Rs 44.09 crore.
