The project will come up at a cost of Rs 165 crore and will be built on a public-private partnership basis. While Rs 15 crore will be spent on land, Rs 150 crore will be spent on infrastructure, a state government official said on Wednesday. While Rs 50 crore will be given by the Centre, Rs 33 crore will be procured from the market. The remaining Rs 82 crore will be procured from banks as loans.
The food processing zone will be set up at Jangipur on an area of 50 acres. Five other food processing zones are coming up at Kaliachak in Malda, Beldanga in Murshidabad, Ayushpur in Burdwan, Rampurhat in Birbhum and Katwa in Nadia.
