Gurdwara Sarabha Nagar president Jatinder Singh Sandhu said in a statement that they along with International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) and other social and human rights groups highlighted the Guru’s mission to devotees and made them aware of Gurdwara Sahib’s activities.
“We are coordinating four projects of rural education, rehabilitation of drug addicts, voice against female infanticide and environment care through Educational Welfare Committee (EWC) of the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana with other social organisations,” he said.
Eminent scholars and social activists who addressed the devotees included Dr Ranjit Singh, Hardeep Singh Brar (Maheeda), Giyani Puran Singh, principal Jaspreet Kaur (Dhanansu), Prof Manjit Kaur (women’s rights activist), Charandeep Singh (environmentalist), besides Karamjit Singh Grewal, a singer on social issues, especially on drug addiction.
Nagar Kirtan by hospital
Guru Tegh Bahadur Charitable Hospital management organised a nagar kirtan on Saturday in which students from schools and college of nursing participated. On Sunday, the management organised a free medical camp which was inaugurated by Mayor H S Gohalwaria.
