Kolkata, November 19 A day after a couple entered into a suicide pact at Bijoygarh, police said they were looking for the three persons named in the suicide note. Swapan Banerjee (52), a resident of Bijoygarh, had allegedly consumed poison with his son Raja (13) and wife Urmi. While he survived, his wife and the son died. In a suicide note scribbled on the wall, he mentioned three men who harassed him due to his indebtedness and were responsible for the deaths. South 24 Parganas ASP (Industrial) Sunil Choudhury said: “We are trying to verify the names of the accused.” While the suicide note mentioned Dipak Ganguly, Surajit Majumder (Antu) and Asit Chakraborty (Shambhu), the ASP kept mum on the names. Another police officer said: “The persons mentioned are local CPM men with considerable influence in local politics.” The police, however, have not received a formal complaint in the case till Wednesday evening. Sources claimed that there were certain inconsistencies in the suicide note. It mentioned that the family was locked inside the house and was tortured since it had come to live in the flat on November 6. A police officer, however, said the locals had noticed Banerjee’s wife and his son outside the house just a few days ago. Banerjee is recuperating at the MR Bangur hospital right now.
