Bangalore A 32-year-old Gurgaon-based software engineer was arrested after he allegedly murdered his 28-year-old wife in Bangalore on Monday.

Police said Siddharth Chaudhary took a flight to Bangalore on November 12, and killed her after a heated argument.

He allegedly stabbed his wife repeatedly after the couple had a heated argument in their room. Their three-year-old daughter was outside with Ruchi’s parents, who were trying to get help to end the couple’s quarrel.

Police said the couple had disagreements over financial

issues. Siddharth wanted Ruchi to take a loan for a flat, but she refused.

Siddharth had taken a transfer to Gurgaon to stay away from his wife. Ruchi’s parents had moved in with their daughter to support her and their granddaughter, police said.

The Bangalore Police arrested Siddharth, who was slumped in a chair next to his wife’s body. He had slashed his wrists, police said.

Ruchi’s parents told police that the couple had a heated argument over the phone on Sunday night. Police said Siddharth had carried a knife to Bangalore, which indicated that the murder was premeditated.

Siddharth had been living in Delhi for the past two months.

The couple married in 2008, but was on the verge of separation as their relationship was strained, police said.
