Pratibha Patil was on Monday sworn-in as the new governor of Rajasthan making her the first woman to occupy the gubernatorial post in the state.

Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Yadram Meena administered the oath of office and secrecy to Pratibha, who has a strong hold in the Maharashtra cooperative movement.

With Pratibha taking over as governor, Rajasthan now has women on three top positions in the state, including Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Assembly speaker Sumitra Singh.
