"Bachchan temple" causes embarrassment to Amitabh

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has said that the decision by his fans to build a temple in his name in Kolkata is “embarrassing”.

"I am no god. I am a flesh and blood human being. To me, erecting a temple in my name sounds embarrassing," Bachchan said replying to a query at a press meet in kolkata on Wednesday night.

A bunch of starry-eyed admirers of big B under the aegis of the West Bengal unit of Amitabh Bachchan Fans' Association had announced plans last month to erect a Bachchan temple and museum near the city.

"I appreciate the admiration and love these people have for me. But I have done nothing extraordinary to deserve such accolades," Bachchan said.

Describing himself as a humble professional who has given his utmost to his profession, the star of the millennium said he had done nothing that made him worth 'worshipping'.

To another question on how it felt to be immortalised at Madam Tussaud's celebrated wax museum in London, he said it was a great feeling.
