MUMBAI, August 12: Two persons belonging to the Abu Salem gang have been arrested and seven others detained in connection with the murder of music baron Gulshan Kumar here today. Police sources said Vakil Shekhar and Shaukat of the Abu Salem faction were arrested at 10 pm. Meanwhile the police have detained seven others for interrogation. Further investigations are on,police sources said.

Verma remanded

PATNA: Former Union minister Chandradeo Prasad Verma was today remanded to judicial custody till August 26 in connection with four cases of the fodder scam after a Patna court rejected his prayer for regular bail. Verma, surrendered before the designated CBI court of S K Lal, today.

Urea scam

NEW DELHI: P V Prabhakar Rao, son of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao today failed to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here for questioning in connection with the Rs 133 crore urea scam. Rao has sent a medical certificate from Hyderabad citing diarrhoea as the reason for his not being able to appear before the Directorate.
