Rahul Bajaj, who is a former Rajya Sabha member blamed the political climate as one of the deterrents to faster reforms. “We decided many years ago, decades ago we will not do business where we have to deal with the government. We don’t manufacture, we don’t buy things for the government,” he said.
The law minister was however quick to defend the government: “If we were doing everything which is wrong in terms of policy, how is it that Bajaj Auto is one of the most successful organisations in the last years recording the highest levels of profits?”
